Directions to Fontana Village

Easiest routes are from Bryson City or Robbinsville, NC. The last stop for groceries is in either of those cities. This is the preferred route for: large motor-home, pulling a RV, or pulling a long trailer.

* From US 74 just east of Bryson City, NC. On US 74 at the 2nd Bryson City exit, go on US 74 for 8 miles, then turn right on Hwy 28. Go on Hwy 28 for 24 miles to a stop sign, turn left and go about one more mile. Caution, that last mile is very curvy.

* From Robbinsville, NC. Take NC 143 east to Hwy 28, turn left and follow Hwy 28 about 10 miles to a Stop sign. Turn left and go about one more mile. Caution, that last mile is very curvy.

The western route involves US 129, better known as The Dragon, (318 curves in 11 miles). There are is often a lot of traffic and high LEO presence on weekends.

* From Knoxville, Tennessee, take US 129 south. Just past Maryville, US 129 turns left, continue on US 129 for about 22 miles. After Calderwood the road gets extremely curvy for the next 11 miles (The Dragon). Just past the TN/NC state line turn left on Hwy 28. Continue on Hwy 28 for 9 miles, it is very curvy also. Only 1 mile to the resort after you cross the river.
